Why travel with us
Kyrgyzstan through the eyes of those who live here
We are a Bishkek-based team of guides and drivers who grew up in these valleys. We know which family makes the best kaymak at Song-Kul, which pass is open after the rain and where to watch the sun set over Issyk-Kul.
- Authentic experiences — yurt stays, horse treks and home-cooked meals with nomad families.
- Book with flexibility — solo, couple or large group, we fit your schedule.
- Tailor-made itineraries — every route can be shortened, extended or combined.

Experiences that define Kyrgyzstan

Best time to travel
Kyrgyzstan through the seasons
Peak summer
Yurt camps open, high lakes reachable, warm Issyk-Kul swims. Book early.
Golden shoulder
Fewer people, crisp air, autumn colours in the valleys and walnut harvest in the south.
Snow season
Powder skiing in Karakol, hot springs and quiet, frosty landscapes.
Festivals
Nooruz (21 March), Independence Day (31 August) and eagle-hunting and nomad games in early autumn.

Questions travellers ask us
Can't find your answer? Message us — we usually reply the same day.
Read the full travel guideDo I need a visa to visit Kyrgyzstan?
Citizens of more than 60 countries — including the EU, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea — can visit Kyrgyzstan visa-free for up to 60 days. Others can apply online for an e-visa. Rules change, so please check before you travel; we're happy to advise.
When is the best time to visit?
June to September is best for yurt stays, horse riding and trekking; the high lakes are only accessible in these months. May and October are quieter with green or golden valleys. December to March is for skiing in Karakol.
Is Kyrgyzstan safe?
Kyrgyzstan is generally a safe and very hospitable country. As anywhere, watch your belongings in bazaars and crowded places. In the mountains the weather can change fast — travelling with a local guide is the safest way to explore.
What is the currency and can I use cards?
The Kyrgyz som (KGS). ATMs and card payments are common in Bishkek, Karakol and Osh, but carry cash for villages, yurt camps and bazaars. US dollars and euros are easy to exchange.
Is tipping expected?
It is not obligatory but always appreciated. A common guideline is USD 5–10 per day for a guide and USD 3–5 per day for a driver.
