Kyrgyzstan’s winter is cold, bright and almost empty of tourists. Karakol has the best ski area in Central Asia — 20 km of pistes from 2,300 to 3,040 m, plus serious off-piste and ski-touring terrain. Between ski days, soak in a hot spring and visit an eagle hunter in the snow.
