Destination
Naryn
The wild heartland of nomadic Kyrgyzstan: high pastures, gorges and few tourists.
The Naryn region is the most traditional part of Kyrgyzstan — over 99% Kyrgyz, with more horses than cars in many villages. Its namesake town lies in a narrow river gorge and is the hub for Song-Kul, Tash-Rabat, Kel-Suu and the At-Bashy valley.
Expect simple guesthouses, warm hospitality and some of the best felt-making (shyrdak) cooperatives in the country.
